UPS  এর পূর্ণ রূপ হচ্ছে  Uninterputed Power Supply। এটি একটি বিদ্যুৎ সমন্বয়কারী যন্ত্র। UPS হলো এক বিশেষ ধরনের যন্ত্র যা কিছু সময়ের জন্য বৈদ্যুতিক শক্তি সঞ্চিত রাখতে পারে। এই যন্ত্রে সরাসরি বৈদ্যুতিক লাইন-এর সংযোগ দেয়া থাকে এবং এর নির্গমন লাইনের সাথে বৈদ্যুতিক যন্ত্রপাতির সংযোগ দেয়া থকে। সাধারণভাবে বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহের সময় এর মূল কোষে/ব্যাটারিতে বৈদ্যুতিক শক্তি সঞ্চিত হয়। হঠাৎ করে বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ বন্ধ হয়ে গেলে UPS থেকে দুই মিলি সেকেন্ড সময়ের মধ্যে সঞ্চিত বৈদ্যুতিক শক্তি সরবরাহ শুরু করে। এর ফলে ব্যবহারকারী বিদ্যুৎ বিভ্রাটের তাৎক্ষণিক প্রভাব এড়াতে পারেন, যাতে মূল্যবান ডাটা ও সম্পদ রক্ষা করা সম্ভব হয়। প্রতিটি UPS -এর নির্দিষ্ট পরিমাণ বৈদ্যুতিক শক্তি ধারন ক্ষমতা এবং সমপরিমাণ শক্তি সরবরাহ ক্ষমতা রয়েছে। UPS গুলো সাধারণত ১০ মিনিট থেকে ২ ঘন্টা পর্যন্ত বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ করতে পারে।
UPS এর স্থায়িত্ব কিভাবে বাড়ানো যায়
Instrument  ব্যবহার শেষে কিছুক্ষণ পর Main line  থেকে UPS-কে বিচ্ছিন্ন করলে UPS-এর স্থায়িত্ব দীর্ঘ হবে।
