বাংলাদেশে বিভিন্ন ধরণের নৌকা ব্যবহৃত হয় । কবি ও লেখকদের বিভিন্ন লেখায় আমরা এগুলো পাই। আজ আমি বাংলাপিডিয়ার  "নৌকা" লেখা থেকে কিছু নৌকার উল্লেখ করবো ।  পাতাম নৌকাঃ সাধারণতঃ দূরের যাত্রার জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয় । দুইদিকে বৌঠা থাকে । একদিকে বড় অন্যদিকে ছোট। বড় দিকটা সাধরণতঃ নৌকাকে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করার জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয় ।

নায়োরীঃ আসলে আত্মীয় স্বজনের বাসায় মহিলাদের যাওয়া আসার কাজে বেশী উপযোগী । দুইদিকে বৌঠা থাকে । অনেক দ্রুতগতির হয় ।

রপ্তানীঃ সমুদ্র ও নদী তীরবর্তী অঞ্চলের জন্য উপযোগী । এই নৌকায় গতি বাড়ানোর জন্য পাল ব্যবহৃত হয় । বর্তমানে এসব নৌকায় শ্যালো মেশিন লাগানো থাকে ।

সম্পানঃ "সম্পান ওয়ালার বাবরী চুল, কাইড়া নিল আমার ঘুম ..." এই সম্পানের নৌকা এককালে আমাদের প্রত্যেকটি নদীর ঘাটে থাকতো । সাধারণতঃ সমুদ্র বা নদীতে দীর্ঘ যাত্রা বা মাছ ধরার কাজে ব্যবহৃত হয় ।

পানশীঃ ছোট নৌকা । সাধারণতঃ প্রেমিক-প্রেমিকাদের গল্প করার জন্য বর্তমানে ব্যবসায়িক ভাবে ব্যবহৃত হয় ।
