Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus (born 28 June 1940) is a Bangladeshi economist, social entrepreneur, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate. He founded Grameen Bank in 1983, pioneering micro‑credit and micro‑finance as tools to alleviate poverty. His concepts of social business and inclusive finance have been incorporated into Bangladesh’s development policies and are frequently examined in BCS economics and development sections.
