Dhaka Education Board has taken necessary initiative to bring all of its affiliated secondary and higher secondary schools under an online platform for regular interaction with the institutions, the board sources said.

The education board chairman Prof Taslima Begum told the FE that they have been working to develop separate websites for its affiliated academic institutions.

"All of these websites will be linked with the board's site making it easy for the watchdog to communicate with the institutes," the professor said adding that they already formed a high-powered technical and experts' committee to prepare a roadmap regarding programme implementation.

Ms Begum noted that the committee was asked to submit recommendations including projected monetary plan within a short time.

She said the regulatory body also fixed a target of two months to make the sites available for the institutions.

She said that the board will develop the sites of all its affiliated education institutions. "The authorities will collect Tk 1000 from every school and college as website building fee fixed by the concerned ministry," she added.

Ms Begum said the institutions will have to ensure logistic support like procuring computer and internet connection from their own resources. The board will provide necessary training for the teachers to operate the system.

The technical committee convener also exam controller of the board Prof Wahiduzzaman said that the institutions could be able to solve their day-to-day problems without going to the board once the online system is launched.

He said the site will also help the watchdog to select invigilators across the country by scanning the details of the teachers from the web.

"The site will contain necessary information pertaining to teachers and students of the respective academic institutions including their subjective knowledge that will help the authorities to select teachers for employment of the examiners," he noted.
